Eric was a Philadelphia Flyers
MVP and helped lead them to the Stanley Cup finals. You’d
think the Flyer’s GM Bob would have liked Eric, but that
wasn’t so. He became irritated that Eric had to miss some
games because of problems caused by concussions. A couple years
later, Eric ended up in the hospital for a collapsed lung. Right
before that, the Flyer’s medical team had misdiagnosed Eric
and sent him on his way. Eric’s friend and teammate, Keith
Jones, was the one get him to go to the hospital. This made Eric’s
dad write the team a letter telling them if he had listened to
the team’s medical staff, his son would’ve died. That
got Bob angry. When Eric decided not to re-sign with the Flyer’s
and asked Bob to transfer him to Toronto, Bob refused. Eric had
to sit out the next season with and not play for anyone. Bob said
“I don’t give a s*** if he plays another game.” |
