After Mike Tyson knocked out
an opponent he made a statement to the press that he would tear
out Lennox Lewis’ heart and eat his children. It was thought
that Tyson’s comments were trying to goad Lewis into a fight,
which it did. During a pre-fight news conference for the Lewis/Tyson
fight at the Hudson Theater Mike Tyson was on stage awaiting the
arrival of Lewis to the stage. When the Lewis camp walked towards
the stage Tyson walked towards them. A Lewis bodyguard pushed
Tyson back. Tyson threw a hook at the bodyguard and the melee
was on. Lewis threw a right hand which appearantly glanced off
Tyson’s head cutting him. A crowd of people were tumbling
over each other on the stage, WBC President Jose Sulaiman was
knocked unconscious. When the match occurred Lewis easily beat
Tyson. |
