Star was one of the co-hosts
on The View. After nine seasons, she was told her contract would
not be renewed for a tenth. When her time on the show was almost
up, Star surprised everybody by announcing after a commercial
break that she was not going to be coming back. Though everybody
on the show already knew she wasn’t returning, they were
shocked that Star took it upon herself to announce her leaving
so soon. The next day on the show, Star wasn’t there and
Barbara told the viewers that Star was supposed to make her announcement
later that week, and whatever she had said for the reason for
leaving would’ve been supported. She said that she felt
“betrayed” by Star, and that she thought Star would
have left the show “with dignity.” She made it known
that Star wouldn’t be welcomed back on the show. Star on
the other hand, fired back and said that “For Barbara to
say she felt betrayed is the height of hypocrisy.” According
to her, she felt like she was “fired” from the show
because Barbara, the show’s creator, didn’t even bother
to tell her they weren’t going to renew her contract. |
